Dear Chiropractor,

I'm not going to sit here and blow smoke up your ass and tell you that all those things are not true.
Times are tough right now. Gas prices are at an All Time High, people are losing money in the market, and people are losing jobs. I'm not going to argue that.
The truth is, my practice has slowed down a little bit too, but at the level I'm playing at, a slow month still earns me $50,000/month!

Because at one point, I was just like you.
You see, I was once in your place. I had absolutely no idea how to grow my practice, I was in a ton of debt and It seemed like whatever I tried, I would only see marginal progress at best.
I hated going to the office.
We were close to $200,000.00 in debt.
I had poorly trained staff.
I was working my ass off doing spinal screenings every weekend trying to get people in the door. Which meant I was spending lots of time away from my family.
I had bill collectors calling me constantly. I remember sitting down at my desk looking at those stacks of bills and saying to my wife..."I gotta go through these bills and figure out which lucky S.O.B. is gonna get paid this month." ...because I didn't have enough money to pay them all.
Speaking of my wife, she was always very supportive of me, but many a night I watched her cry as the stress and anxiety built up of having to live off of credit cards because we weren't pulling in enough money to live. It broke my heart to see her like that.

To Make Matter Worse, I Was Constantly Comparing My Office To A More Successful One Down The Street. |
There was a chiropractor down the street from us who saw over 900 New Patients that year! That's 75 new patients a month on average!
He was making close to $150,000.00 month, driving an H2 Hummer that was all jacked up with pimped out rims and a license plate that read "RLY LIV" (Really Live)
He had a big, beautiful home that sat on several acres with a sign above his gated entrance that read "The Promised Land".
He also had 7 kids who were always dressed in the finest and latest fashions.
Of course I was driving a 1999 Ford Ranger that was constantly breaking down. My truck couldn't even pass inspection! And I lived in a small one bedroom apartment with my wife.
My practice was not even close to what I had dreamed of having. I had no real systems in place, I was completely lost and I scared off more new patients than you could shake a stick at..
My Report of Findings was atrocious. And when it came to asking for money, I would get real nervous and my voice would quiver with lots of uncertainty.
More often than not, I would waive or reduce deductibles and co-pays only to find that most of my new patients didn't even value my care enough to pay me a measly $100 to cover a fraction of their deductible!
My patient education was non-existent other than a few posters on the wall that no one paid attention to and maybe a weekly handout that most patients would toss to the side and not even bother to read.
A Friend Of Mine Suggested Trying A Practice Management Group.
So I checked into it. Over the course of the next 24 months I joined 3 different Practice Management Groups. I jumped around from program to program like a 6 year old playing Hop Scotch.
Two years later I realized I had just spent $27,000 (all of which I had to put on credit cards because I wasn't making any money) and had nothing to show for it.
Needless to say, by this point in time I was dead broke, my practice was going under, my relationship with my wife was in shambles and if I didn't do something quick, I was going to have to close my office doors and file bankruptcy.
All my dreams, everthing I thought my paractice and my life would be, was vanishing before my very eyes.
That's when something snapped!
